Job Summary
Responsible for operating extrusion machines to produce plastic film according to approved production specifications, ensuring product quality, machine efficiency, and continuous production.
Responsibilities- Operate extrusion machines in accordance with approved work instructions and production schedules to produce plastic film.
- Set and monitor machine parameters including temperature, pressure, screw speed, and line speed to achieve required product specifications.
- Monitor film quality by checking thickness, width, colour, surface finish, and other specified production requirements.
- Conduct machine start-up, shutdown, and product changeovers in accordance with established operating procedures.
- Monitor raw material feeding and blending to ensure uninterrupted production and proper material utilisation.
- Identify and report machine malfunctions, process abnormalities, or product quality issues to the Production Supervisor.
- Perform routine operational checks and basic troubleshooting to maintain stable machine performance.
- Record production output, material consumption, waste, downtime, and machine operating data accurately.
- Minimise material waste and support initiatives to improve production efficiency and product quality.
- Perform routine cleaning of extrusion machines and maintain housekeeping standards within the extrusion area.
- Assist the maintenance team during preventive maintenance and machine repair activities.
- Ensure compliance with company operating procedures, quality standards, and workplace safety requirements.
- Handle raw materials, finished film rolls, and production materials in accordance with established procedures.
- Monitor machine performance continuously and report opportunities for process improvement.
- Perform other extrusion‑related duties assigned by the Production Supervisor or Production Manager.
5–8 years of experience operating blown film extrusion machines in a plastic garbage bag manufacturing environment, including machine setup, process control, troubleshooting, and team guidance.
Skills RequiredStrong knowledge of blown film extrusion processes, machine setup and operation, process parameter control, quality inspection, troubleshooting, material handling, production reporting, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
Education & Training RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent, preferably with technical training in plastic manufacturing, along with advanced training in blown film extrusion, machine maintenance, quality control, process optimisation, and workplace safety procedure.
