Executive Chef - Indian Cuisine
As an Executive Chef specializing in Indian cuisine, you will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations and menu development at our restaurant in Ajman. Your expertise in creating authentic and flavorful Indian dishes will be essential in maintaining the high standards of our establishment. You will also be responsible for managing a team of kitchen staff, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are met, and controlling food costs.
This is a contract job with a salary of 1100$ per month, with accommodation provided. A biometric passport is required for this position.
- Develop creative and authentic Indian menus that appeal to our diverse clientele
- Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Monitor food costs and inventory levels to ensure profitability
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in the kitchen
- Implement new cooking techniques or equipment to improve efficiency
- Collaborate with other departments to plan events or special promotions
- Oversee purchasing and receiving of ingredients to ensure quality and freshness
- Create and maintain relationships with local suppliers for sourcing ingredients
- Stay updated on industry trends and new ingredients to continually improve menu offerings
- Minimum of 5 years experience as an Executive Chef specializing in Indian cuisine
- Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of Indian spices, flavors, and cooking techniques
- Ability to lead a team and delegate tasks effectively
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent communication skills in English (spoken & written)
- Biometric passport required for work permit
