Role DescriptionThe Sales Cashier is a full-time, on-site role located at Oasis Bakery in Ajman. The person in this role processes customer purchases using the point-of-sale (POS) system, handles cash and card payments accurately, and provides receipts. Day-to-day tasks include greeting customers, answering basic product questions, maintaining a clean and organized counter area, and restocking display items as needed. The Sales Cashier also assists with monitoring inventory levels for front-of-house items, follows food safety and hygiene guidelines, and supports the team in delivering a positive customer experience.
Weekend and holiday shifts may be required based on business needs.
- Ability to operate POS systems, handle cash and card transactions, and perform basic math with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong customer service skills, including clear communication, polite interaction, and a helpful attitude toward customers and colleagues.
- Attention to detail and reliability in following procedures, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Organizational skills for managing queues, prioritizing tasks during busy periods, and keeping the checkout and display areas neat.
- Basic English communication skills; additional languages commonly spoken in Ajman are an advantage.
- Previous experience in retail, bakery, or food service cashier roles is preferred but not required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks such as lifting and moving product trays.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
