Generator Technician Qatar

Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on diesel generators of various brands and capacities.

Diagnose faults in diesel engines, alternators, AC / DC electrical circuits, wiring harnesses, and control panels .

Conduct load tests , assess generator performance, and ensure compliance with required operating parameters.

Replace and repair components such as radiators, fuel lift pumps, hoses, belts, crank seals, starters, and electrical alternators .

Execute high-voltage cable installations, grounding procedures , and ensure strict adherence to electrical safety standards.

Handle refueling operations , oil changes, coolant checks, and filter replacements.

Maintain spare parts inventory, request required items, and ensure proper usage of tools and PPE .

Prepare and maintain service reports, maintenance logs , and documentation as per company or project standards.

Support power distribution teams in connecting generators to electrical panels and distribution systems .

Respond to emergency generator breakdowns , conduct fast troubleshooting, and restore operations quickly.

Strong knowledge of diesel engines , electrical systems, and generator mechanisms

Hands-on experience with fault diagnostics and testing equipment

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, electrical diagrams, and shop drawings

Understanding of voltage, amperage, frequency, and power factor calculations

Knowledge of LOTO (Lockout / Tagout) and workplace safety procedures

Competence in mechanical repairs , component replacement, and system overhauls

Effective communication, time management, and teamwork abilities

ITI certification or diploma in Generator Mechanic, Mechanical Engineering, or related field

5+ years of experience in generator maintenance (depending on role level)

Experience with international projects, high-capacity DG sets, or multi-generator operations is preferred
