A prominent organization in the Akron area is looking for a skilled Accountant to join their team in a contract-to-hire capacity in Akron, OH. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in both accounts payable and accounts receivable. After an initial training period, the position offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement. The ideal candidate will be proactive, able to work independently, and eager to contribute to process improvements.

• Manage accounts payable processes, including transaction review, reconciliation, and accruals
• Address and resolve outstanding items at month-end close
• Support accounts receivable operations, ensuring timely billing and accurate cash application
• Monitor overdue accounts and act as an escalation point for complex customer issues
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Maintain thorough documentation for audit and compliance requirements
• Conduct general ledger reconciliations and analyze variances
• Oversee fixed asset records

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• At least 3 years of relevant accounting experience including fixed assets
• Proficiency with general ledger accounting systems
• Hands‑on experience with fixed assets, journal entries, and reconciliations
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and vlookups
