Aboutthe Opportunity
This is an open position with the First Energy Service Company, a subsidiary of First Energy Corp. The Program Management Office (PMO) within Program Delivery oversees a five‑year portfolio exceeding two billion dollars in distribution regulatory and program expenditures. The team ensures accurate tracking and reporting of scope, schedule, budget, and reliability benefits across multiple programs, with potential for further expansion.
The PMO is seeking a business analyst to enhance program reporting, identify risks, and monitor initiative progress to drive accountability and collaboration. The preferred reporting location is First Energy Headquarters in Akron, Ohio. Other locations within the company's service territory will be considered.
- Develop weekly workstream and monthly leadership reports.
- Monitor and report progress against program plans, presenting to leadership and providing presentations for ad‑hoc data requests.
- Collaborate with Program Managers, Engineering, Construction, and Reliability groups to evolve reporting, identify improvement areas, and measure success.
- Anticipate and meet internal and external customer needs independently.
- Develop solutions for complex assignments while actively adding value within scope of assignments.
- Promote a sense of urgency in the team for reaching goals and meeting deadlines.
- Forge effective working relationships and achieve desired results with employees from various levels, 3rd‑party vendors, and consultants.
- Make sound decisions by evaluating options with consideration for implications and consequences.
- Support continuous improvement activities across the business unit and First Energy.
- Two‑to‑four‑year degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or related discipline and minimum 7‑to‑10 years of related work experience, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in program management for measuring success; strong understanding of project management skills and risk identification.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word);
Power
BI, P6, and OPPM skills are a plus. - Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interpret and communicate data.
- Strong analytical, decision‑making, planning, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong understanding of process improvement and reengineering techniques.
- Ability to effectively present complex subject matter to all levels of management.
- Team player with willingness to collaborate across all FE business units.
- High attention to detail and questioning attitude to learn and produce results.
