Overview

Quanex is looking for a Product Manager to join our team located in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, Edina, MN or Akron, OH. The Product Manager, Screens & Door Components, will be responsible for the life‑cycle management of Quanex’s screens, screen doors and door components portfolio, including the development of new solutions and management of existing products. In this role you will conduct voice‑of‑customer research, determine product requirements, implement go‑to‑market strategies, lead product launches, and maintain business activities such as product training, RFP support, and productivity improvement initiatives.

You will develop a deep understanding of the screens, screen door, and door components markets and use that knowledge to identify growth opportunities. You will communicate and influence stakeholders across sales, operations, global supply, engineering, and marketing to execute the product strategy and roadmap, and achieve revenue and margin targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct voice‑of‑customer research and determine product requirements for new and existing products.
  • Implement go‑to‑market and product launch strategies.
  • Maintain product training, RFP support, and productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Develop deep market knowledge to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Communicate with and influence cross‑functional stakeholders to execute product strategy and roadmap.
  • Help achieve revenue and margin targets.
What Success Looks Like
  • Develop a deep understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscape, macro trends, competitor and supplier offerings, and customer needs.
  • Lead new product development efforts including product strategy, business case development, forecasting, product requirement definition, cost targets & customer feedback process, and product launch.
  • Monitor portfolio across the life cycle through product data analysis (revenue, profit, demand, & market data) and recommend changes to optimize customer value and financial results.
  • Understand competitive product & pricing and position Quanex’s products against solutions.
  • Contribute to pricing strategy and annual price recommendations.
  • Support operations organization to manage and improve product quality and delivery.
  • Train sales organization, distributor partners, and customers on Quanex products.
  • Respond to daily sales inquiries to support new business opportunities and risk management.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop & update new hardware collateral and sales tools.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or engineering is desired;
    Marketing/Business/MBA preferred.
  • 5‑7 years of professional B2B product‑management experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience partnering with external customers and internal partners (engineering, operations, supply chain).
  • Previous exposure to or experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Successful track record of problem solving, idea generation, and project execution.
  • Prior experience in residential and/or commercial fenestration industry preferred.
  • Cross‑functional leadership and ability to lead complex projects.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on execution and delivery of results.
  • Data analysis skills and ability to recommend actions based on data.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Flexibility between strategic and tactical activity.
  • Highly motivated with entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work independently.

Salary Range

$92,000 to $112,000 with bonus potential.
