Neonatologist

Overview

Akron Children's Hospital is dedicated to building a diverse workforce and serving the communities we care for. We are seeking a full-time Neonatologist to join our Neonatology-Perinatology Department. You will be part of a highly skilled team, providing care for critically ill and premature newborns within our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Our NICU offers a 100-bed capacity, with 75 Level IV beds and 25 Level III beds in private rooms, plus coverage at the Akron Children's Summa NICU with a 22-bed Level III NICU.

• Deliver expert care to sick and premature newborns in Level IV and Level III NICU settings.
• Attend and manage high-risk deliveries.
• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for extremely premature, surgical, cardiac, and ECMO patients, with a focus on optimizing outcomes.
• Collaborate with a growing multidisciplinary team, currently including 8 neonatologists and 40 neonatal nurse practitioners.

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Neonatology.
• Ability to obtain an unrestricted Ohio medical license.
• Experience in neonatal intensive care and high-risk deliveries.
• Strong commitment to patient care and teamwork.

• Engage in teaching and mentoring medical students and residents, with an academic appointment opportunity at Northeast Ohio Medical University.
• Participate in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives.

The incoming physician will have teaching opportunities with residents and medical students and an appointment opportunity at Northeast Ohio Medical University. The successful candidate will be an excellent clinician with interest in education and quality improvement.

This position is a 501(c)(3) site which qualifies for Public Service Loan Forgiveness through the Federal government.
