Job Overview

Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking a board‑certified pediatric hematologist/oncologist (BC/BE) who will also serve as a clinical faculty member at the assistant/associate professor level. The position focuses on clinical care of children and adolescents undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, as well as related hematology and oncology services.

Responsibilities
  • Dedicate a minimum of 50% of clinical time to bone marrow transplantation.
  • Provide clinical hematology and/or oncology services for the remaining 30% of clinical time, tailored to the candidate’s interests.
  • Fulfill 20% of non‑clinical commitments including academic teaching, program development, and community outreach.
  • Participate in the hospital’s teaching activities and support the Northeast Ohio Medical University affiliation.
  • Maintain high standards of patient care, safety, and documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • Board certified in pediatric hematology/oncology (BC/BE).
  • In‑depth experience caring for children and adolescents undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a teaching faculty member at the assistant or associate professor level.
  • Strong clinical skill set in pediatric hematology and oncology practice.
  • Commitment to academic teaching, research, and community engagement.
