The Department of Chemistry within the College of Arts and Sciences at Cleveland State University invites applications for a non-tenure track, full-time faculty position at the level of Assistant College Lecturer in Chemistry, beginning August 17, 2026. The faculty member hired is expected to teach chemistry courses, teach majors and non‑majors courses that will best strengthen our Chemistry program, and participate in service.

The Department of Chemistry offers B.S. degrees in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences, an M.S. degree in Chemistry, and a Ph.D. degree in Clinical‑Bioanalytical Chemistry, which is jointly administered with the Cleveland Clinic. The Ph.D. program in Clinical Chemistry is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Clinical Chemistry. CSU aspires to be a national leader in social and economic mobility. • Masters or Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or a closely related field;
• Ability to teach areas of chemistry including General Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, and Physical Chemistry;
• Demonstrated teaching experience in chemistry at the college, university, or community college level;
• Good communication skills.

• Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field;
• ACS‑accredited BS chemistry degree or completion of equivalent courses;
• Documented experience in teaching chemistry lecture courses;
• Evidence of teaching excellence;
• Excellent interpersonal skills;
• Evidence of ability to communicate effectively with individuals of varying backgrounds;
• Ability to manage laboratory courses.
