Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing:
Part-Time

Location: Akron Area

Job Type: 4-6 Hours / week, working with a Kindergartener

Your Impact as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Provide specialized instruction to students with varying levels of hearing loss across grade levels.
  • Support the development of language, communication, auditory, and academic skills.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and ensure student access to learning.
  • Consult with school staff and families on strategies and accommodations to promote success.
  • Assist students with self-advocacy and communication strategies to thrive in school and beyond.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of IEPs (Individualized Education Plans).
Qualifications
  • Required:

    Valid Intervention Specialist License with Hearing Impaired endorsement through the Ohio Department of Education.
  • Required:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field.
  • Preferred:
    Experience with students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a school setting.
