Position Summary:

Archbishop Hoban High School is seeking a Girls Lacrosse Assistant Coach. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, a history of successful coaching experiences and a commitment to total program development. Additionally, the candidate will coach lacrosse, supporting the mission of Archbishop Hoban High School while intentionally integrating the school’s core values into the program. We are a private Catholic School located in the heart of East Akron, rooted in the Holy Cross tradition.

Position Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and vision of the program.
• Maintain standards of team behavior and regard for team rules and expectations.
• Promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline and respect.
• Solid knowledge of player development specific to high school lacrosse.
• Commitment to the program and hold all students and adults associated with the program to the same standards.
• Utilize a variety of instructional techniques to support the growth and development of our student-athletes.
• Supervise practices and assist with both individual and team development.
• Attend staff development meetings, clinics and other professional activities to improve coaching performance.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Position

Qualifications:

• Active Ohio Pupil Activity Permit or the ability to acquire one.
• Successful completion of online coaching training modules.
• Supervise competition and practice during after-school hours as well as on weekends.
• Proven record of supporting and motivating others.
• Proven leadership.
• Complete appropriate criminal records check and have attended or are willing to attend a VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children training are required for this position.
