Spanish Teacher

Archbishop Hoban High School is seeking a full-time Spanish teacher for the  school year. This position includes teaching five sections of college preparatory and honors Spanish courses that align with school standards in a modified block schedule format. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire for creating an inclusive and positive classroom environment, actively engaging students in learning and encouraging a high level of academic achievement.

• Create authentic assessments that consistently provide sound practice and feedback, resulting in student growth and development.
• Incorporate various modes of technology into lesson plans and classroom activities.
• Experience with or are open to a variety of instructional methods and techniques to meet course objectives.
• Encourage a classroom culture of mutual respect and build positive relationships with students.
• Evaluate student academic needs and report student progress as scheduled.
• Communicate with parents and/or guardians in a timely manner regarding student progress.
• Ensure compliance with all school policies, procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe and productive environment for students.
• Participate in school-wide events such as open houses, meet the teacher night and conferences.
• Effective communication, problem-solving and time management skills.
• Maintain the confidentiality of privileged information.

• Valid Ohio high school teaching license.
• Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree. Master’s preferred.
• Working knowledge of school technology (academic software, Google, etc.).
• Appropriate criminal records check by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and Federal Bureau of Investigation. Have attended or are willing to attend a VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children training.
