Job Type: Permanent – Full Time

Our client, a leading engineering organization in the Transmission & Distribution sector, is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to join their growing teams in Akron, Columbus, and St. Louis
. This role is ideal for an engineer who is detail‑oriented, technically strong in transmission line design, and motivated to collaborate closely with internal teams and utility clients. This position offers long‑term growth and the opportunity to contribute to major utility and power delivery initiatives.

• Design high and extra‑high voltage transmission lines (69–500kV) utilizing PLS‑CADD
  .
• Prepare construction documentation including plan and profile drawings
  , structure loading trees, and foundation assembly drawings.
• Develop specifications, project design criteria, and engineering calculations.
• Provide field support during construction activities.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal project teams and external utility clients.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to less experienced engineering staff.
• Support project scheduling, budgeting, and quality assurance.
• Occasional travel to client sites or project locations.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program, or a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology with successful completion of the FE Exam
  .
• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering may substitute for 1 year of experience.
• 3+ years of transmission line design experience.
• Proficiency with PLS‑CADD is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment
  .
• Experience in consulting or utility industry environments preferred.
• Experience in HVDC systems is a plus.
