Role Summary

Join a team where you’ll develop construction packages for high‑voltage distribution projects, and help shape the quality and consistency of technical documentation. You’ll apply your expertise in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and 3D Line Design Software to produce and revise construction drawings, coordinate with technical teams, and contribute to workflow improvements. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional who is passionate about delivering high‑quality work that supports critical infrastructure.

Qualifications
  • Associate of Applied Science degree in Computer‑Assisted Drafting and Design (CAD) or Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • 6+ years of experience
  • Proficient understanding of design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor, or Micro Station.
  • Experience in electrical distribution design. Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Line Design Softwares, and/or safety codes, utility standards, and regulations (NESC, IEEE) is a plus.
  • Practiced ability to effectively read/understand and develop construction drawings.
  • Reliable ability to work independently and within a team environment, working with individuals from various offices and in various disciplines.
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills, with effective problem‑solving abilities and consistent attention to detail.
  • Reliable and team‑oriented, with demonstrated experience collaborating across disciplines to support project execution.
  • Clear and professional communicator with demonstrated ability to convey technical information across teams and disciplines.
  • Valid Driver’s License is required.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for creating and revising drawings and documentation for substation projects, in AutoCAD, from scope documents, engineering sketches and/or verbal instructions.
  • Coordinate with technical personnel to gather and record data for design projects and complete as‑built and record print revisions from marked drawings.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of drawing development workflows and CAD‑based design operations.
  • Mentor less experienced designers/drafters and foster a culture of continuous learning and technical growth within the team.
  • Accountable for the quality of your deliverables and for supporting peer reviews to uphold team standards.
  • Engage with clients to clarify technical requirements, contribute to project updates, and ensure alignment with expectations.
  • Execute project tasks independently within established scope, schedule, and budget parameters.
  • Participate in occasional site walks for current projects. Less than 5% travel.
