Position OverviewAs a Product Support Specialist this requires a strong background in HVAC, electrical and control systems to provide hands‑on technical support for our products in the field and at the factory. This role bridges engineering, production, service and customer support—helping resolve issues, assist with installations and ensure our solutions perform reliably in real‑world applications.
Our Customer Support and Service organization focuses on enabling customers with premier support throughout their product lifecycle. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality for critical equipment and processes across data center and industrial applications.
The compensation range for this full‑time position includes base pay and target performance incentive. This position has a target total compensation range of $70,000 – $105,000. Base salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the primary technical contact for customers and internal teams on electrical and controls‑related product issues.
- Provide advanced remote and on‑site troubleshooting for complex electro‑mechanical, HVAC, and control systems.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, wiring, PLC, and control system problems in a timely and professional manner.
- Support new product launches by helping with setup, configuration, and validation testing.
- Work closely with engineering to identify product improvements and provide field feedback.
- Report design, reliability, and maintenance problems or bugs to design engineering/software engineering and collaborate on resolution.
- Assist in developing troubleshooting guides, wiring diagrams, and support documentation.
- Train service technicians, customers, and internal staff on proper operation and maintenance procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of support cases, field issues, and resolutions.
- Assist with continued product improvement of engineering documentation supporting construction, service and customers.
- Provide on‑site and remote support as needed.
- Occasional travel may be required. One week per month on average with one‑week advance notice.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent technical experience).
- 3–5 years of experience in product support, controls engineering, or related role.
- Strong understanding of control systems, electrical schematics, and PLC or HMI programming.
- Familiarity with industrial automation, sensors, and instrumentation.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Comfortable working directly with customers and cross‑functional teams.
- Experience with control systems:
Distech, JCI, Schneider Electric, Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or similar control platforms. - Knowledge of manufacturing environments or field service support.
- Fluent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
Works in an office environment. Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
