Role DescriptionArcadis is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to deliver bridge projects for our Ohio Bridge Team. You may be based in any of our Ohio offices—Columbus, Akron or Cleveland—and will support a variety of projects within and outside Ohio. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your technical expertise and management skills as part of an industry‐leading firm with a culture of collaboration.
In this position you will serve as a technical lead for infrastructure projects and direct the work of junior engineering staff and CAD technicians. You will work closely with other discipline leads to provide innovative solutions for our clients, including state DOTs, municipal entities, and contractors.
Accountabilities- Serve as lead engineer for bridges and other structures, including new construction, inspection, repair, and rehabilitation projects. Lead, assign, and review work while providing technical guidance to the team.
- Collaborate with colleagues in other offices and areas of expertise.
- Review technical packages as part of our internal quality program.
- Review technical packages from other consultants as owner’s representative.
- Deliver quality plans, calculations, and specifications on schedule.
- Complete bridge inspections and load ratings with associated reports.
- Assist in preparing proposals for various pursuits and scope and fee proposals for structural work.
- Represent the firm at professional organizations and conferences.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
- 10 or more years of bridge design experience.
- 5 or more years of ODOT experience.
- Registrations/Certifications required:
Ohio PE or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. - A valid driver’s license.
- Experience with AASHTO LRFD.
- Experience with ODOT design criteria and standards.
- Familiarity with structural engineering software such as Bentley Open Bridge Designer, MIDAS Civil, AASHTO BrR, Merlin‑DASH, and MathCAD.
- Familiarity with CADD software such as Bentley Open Bridge Modeler, Bentley Micro Station, Autodesk Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office.
- Work independently with minimal direction and oversight.
- Demonstrate excellent time‑management skills with the ability to work on multiple unique assignments simultaneously.
- Direct and mentor junior‑level staff inside the project team.
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively convey information to technical and non‑technical individuals.
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.
- Experience with Design‑Build projects.
- ODOT Level 2 Bridge Inspection Certification.

Salary Range$94,944 – $161,405. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
