Environmental Scientist Assistant

Job Description

One Tech Engineering is searching for an Environmental Scientist Assistant for a position located in Akron, Ohio. The Environmental Scientist Assistant will identify and prepare environmental and non-environmental permits through municipalities, townships, counties, and state departments of transportation.

The candidate must be a US Citizen or a green card holder, the position is not eligible for sponsorship. The candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or a related natural science degree from an accredited program.

Local candidates preferred or open to relocation. This is not a remote position.

Environmental Scientist Assistant Responsibilities:

• Interpret engineering drawings to identify and develop permits.
• Environmental analysis and evaluations.
• Support project managers, design engineers, environmental consultants, GIS mapping specialists, vegetation management team, Right-of-Way managers and real estate coordinators as required.
• Track the status of permit applications and escalate any delays or issues that may impact project timelines.
• Support Client needs as directed.
• Efficient at working independently as well as in a team environment.
• Adhering to all safety requirements.

Requirements of the Environmental Scientist Assistant:

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or a related natural science degree from an accredited program.
• Working knowledge of general permitting requirements and laws.
• Proficient in working with Google Earth, PDF viewer/editing programs, spreadsheets and other task tracking software.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
