Senior Cost Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Cost Accountant to work for our client located in Akron. The ideal candidate will align with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

• Supports annual standard cost process as well as quarterly cost movement reviews
• Leads annual physical inventory processes and related reconciliations
• Proactively seeks out ways to improve processes and accuracy and drive efficiency
• Monitor processes and controls relating to inventory transactions and reporting failures and areas for improvement
• Analyze actual manufacturing costs and report on variances from standard costs, understanding root cause, and corrective actions
• Performs the monthly accounting close process, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entry postings
• Support compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and related audits
• Lead and manage quarterly excess and obsolete inventory review
• Other ad-hoc requests/analysis/projects

• Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 3 years of cost accounting experience
• Demonstrated understanding of financial and accounting principles and processes
• An analytical mindset and be a self-starter, being able to see opportunities and solve problem independently
• Good communication and time management skills
