FTEAS provides fiduciary and court accounting services for trusts and estates across the United States. The Senior Manager is part of the leadership team and plays an integral role in strategy, client service, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities- Technical review of complex trust and estate accountings.
- Managing teams to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of work products.
- Managing client relationships and participating in business development activities.
- Providing estimates for new accounting work, preparing engagement documentation, and ensuring compliance with independence, eDocs, and technology initiatives.
- Building strong relationships with internal EY groups and developing operational efficiencies.
- Contributing to a flexible, team‑oriented culture that fosters staff development.
- Completing professional development courses to maintain fiduciary accountability and software proficiency.
- Monitoring engagement profitability, staff efficiency, workload assignments, and billable projects.
- Ensuring proper and timely billing and follow‑up with clients regarding collections.
- Making decisions on accountings, trust documents, tax filings, and client communications.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- CPA, EA, licensed Attorney, Professional Fiduciary, or CTFA certification.
- 10+ years of fiduciary/court accounting experience in a bank, law firm, or CPA firm with a proven track record of managing staff and engagements.
- Excellent technical fiduciary accounting skills; experience with IRS Forms 706, 1041, and K‑1s.
- Strong understanding of complex investments, tax concepts, trust structures, and estate planning documents.
- Ability to research state‑specific laws and trust regulations.
- Strong client interaction, leadership, business development, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with software applications such as Thomson Reuters fiduciary accounting software, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Thorough understanding of fiduciary tax law and concepts required to prepare fiduciary/court accountings.
- Experience working with complex assets and large trusts and estates.
- Experience working with family offices.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
- A comprehensive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, pension, 401(k), and paid time off. The base salary range for this position in the U.S. is $127,900–$291,900 (adjusted for location) with opportunities for performance recognition.
