Summary: The MRI Technologist performs all magnetic resonance procedures to produce cross‑sectional images of a patient’s body for diagnostic purposes according to protocol and age‑specific needs.

• Performs all magnetic resonance procedures to produce cross‑sectional images of a patient’s body for diagnostic purposes according to protocol and age‑specific needs.
• Performs all tasks involved in MRI screening and safety for MRI patients, families, and others that are required to enter the MRI environment.
• Follows all QA/QC guidelines for all equipment.
• Administers contrast materials and prepares and operates the MRI scanner equipment and ancillary equipment.
• Performs clerical duties in RIS, PACS, and hospital computer systems associated with this position.
• Rotates call to provide coverage outside of normal business hours.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
• Other duties as required.

• Experience performing MRI scanning is required.
• Experience in hospital environment is preferred.

• Education:
  
  Graduate from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology is required.
• Licensure:
  None.
• Certification: MRI certification from the ARRT or ARMRIT is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Years of relevant experience:
  Minimum of 2 years is preferred.
• Years of supervisory experience:
  None.
