The optometric technician is essential for maintaining efficient patient flow, assisting the optometrist by conducting pre‑screenings and tests before the doctor’s examination. Training is provided; no prior optical experience or certification is required.

We close every Sunday.

• Ensure high quality patient care.
• Maintain a professional atmosphere and the appearance of the doctor’s office and pre‑test room.
• Understand ocular terminology, diseases, and abbreviations.
• Explain preliminary examinations to patients.
• Complete necessary paperwork and perform testing on patients prior to the doctor’s examination.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients.
• Perform exam pre‑screening.
• Review prescriptions and/or patient information carefully, identify special needs, and consult with the optician, doctor, or retail management when necessary.
• Ensure equipment, both doctor’s and pre‑test, is properly maintained.

• Previous retail/optical experience preferred but not required.
