Pharmacist - Inpatient

$8,000 Sign-On Bonus (taxable) – Available Bonus paid in full with first paycheck

Full-time, 40 Hours/week. Variable shift, Monday‑Friday and every 3rd weekend rotation. Onsite Akron, OH

The Pharmacist ensures safe, effective, appropriate drug therapy for all patients.

• Contacts and confers with physician and nursing staff in a manner that results in an effective outcome when drug therapy questions, irregularities, or problems are encountered; documentation of the resolution of any inappropriate orders is recorded.
• Reviews each new medication order against patient profile information for completeness, allergy conflicts, reasonableness of dose, duplicate drug therapy, and clinically significant drug reactions.
• Maintains all legally required and departmentally required records including controlled substances.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
• Other duties as required.

• Experience in pharmacy is required; pediatrics is preferred.
• Experience in JCAHO accreditation is preferred.
• Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
• Experience in healthcare is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy is required;

  D degree is preferred.
• Current license by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy is required.
• Years of relevant experience: 5 to 7 years is preferred.
• Years of experience supervising:
  None.

• Possesses a valid Stated driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain insurability as determined by the ACH insurance carrier's requirements.
• An annual physical is required to be completed with the Akron Children's Hospital Employee Health Department.
