Position SummaryParker Aerospace Group – Braking Systems Division (BSD) is hiring a Human Resources Manager with responsibility over two locations in Akron, OH, and Gardena, CA, with a combined total of 380 team members. This position will manage two direct reports and will report directly to the Division HR Manager. In this role you will demonstrate leadership skills as a strategic HR business leader relied upon to bring results‑based business acumen into play.
The position partners closely with the Plant Managers of the respective sites and has high visibility to the Division leadership team.
- Act as the strategic HR partner between operations and supporting functional team and the HR function by understanding the business needs, developing the HR strategy for the sites, and proposing/implementing HR initiatives to support business growth.
- Lead change initiatives and assist stakeholders in navigating transitions.
- Champion a winning culture at the site by promoting a positive workplace, leveraging inclusion and employee recognition, and amplifying our presence in the community.
- Manage the end‑to‑end recruitment process, including job postings, candidate selections, interviews, and offer negotiation, partnering with the talent acquisition team and staffing agencies.
- Promote continuous improvement by analyzing processes, monitoring effectiveness, and identifying opportunities to enhance operational performance, reduce complexity, and improve employee experience. Utilize data to drive decisions and ensure its integrity and accuracy.
- Coach and influence a diverse set of stakeholders.
- Lead ethics investigations and manage employee relations issues using conflict resolution techniques. Ensure legal and regulatory compliance, including equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, work authorization, etc.
- Manage compensation annual cycles for the site (merit, bonus, equity adjustment, market analysis).
- Implement open‑door policy by providing multiple communication channels (engagement surveys, pulse surveys, skip levels, etc.).
- Advise management on organization design to support business growth.
- Build organizational capability—identify critical roles/skillsets, define a workforce plan, and create strategies to fill gaps (short‑term and long‑term).
- Facilitate performance management and succession planning with the management team.
- Lead and develop the HR team to achieve performance excellence and functional effectiveness.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business/Management, Organizational Management, or related HR fields.
- Minimum of 6 years of significant professional accomplishments with increasing responsibility and leadership of Human Resources teams.
- Experience supporting a manufacturing environment highly preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, project management, and change management experience.
- Analytical and technical skills to understand business practices and recommend aligned solutions.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong employee relations, problem‑solving, and conflict‑resolution experience.
- Experience working with unionized teams is a plus.
