Field Deployment & Implementation Specialist

1 day ago Be among the first 25 applicants

Harmoni builds hardware and software that connects CNC machines, operators, and ERP systems to streamline shop‑floor operations. Our platform is deployed directly on manufacturing floors, so real‑world execution, clean installs, and strong customer relationships matter just as much as the technology itself.

We’re looking for a hands‑on, customer‑facing Field Deployment & Implementation Specialist to lead early‑stage site assessments and support device rollouts at customer facilities. This role will evolve as our product and deployment model matures, but today it is focused on setting customers up for success from day one.

What You’ll Do
  • Visit customer manufacturing facilities to assess machine connectivity needs.
  • Scope each machine for:
    • Cable routing and environmental considerations
    • Identify how Harmoni devices will interface with each machine (Ethernet, serial, sensors, etc.).
  • Capture clear, accurate site details using Harmoni’s internal field service application.
  • Provide detailed documentation that enables the operations team to prepare complete, correct installation kits.
  • Coordinate with customers on pre‑install requirements, such as:
    • Basic physical prep work
    • Return to customer sites after prep work is completed.
  • Install and configure Harmoni devices.
    • Verify connectivity to machines, networks, and backend systems.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to:
      • Handoff & Feedback Loop
      • Validate that systems are ready for customer onboarding and training.
      • Hand off deployed sites to the training and customer success teams.
      • Provide structured feedback to engineering and product teams based on real‑world deployment experience.
Who You Are
  • Hands‑on and comfortable working on active shop floors.
  • Confident working independently at customer sites and making real‑time decisions.
  • Detail‑oriented, safety‑conscious, and disciplined about documentation.
  • Able to communicate effectively with operators, maintenance staff, and supervisors.
  • Comfortable being the “face of Harmoni” during early customer interactions.
Experience & Skills (What Matters Most)

Practical familiarity with CNC machines and controls (Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Siemens, etc.). You don’t need to be a programmer, but you should be comfortable navigating controls and understanding machine behavior.

  • Basic industrial networking

Comfortable with Ethernet connections, IP addressing, and basic network troubleshooting in an industrial environment.

  • Machine connectivity & integration experience

Experience connecting machines to external devices such as PCs, terminals, monitoring systems, or data collection hardware.

Ability to systematically diagnose issues across hardware, wiring, machine settings, and network configuration.

  • Mechanical / electrical comfort

Comfortable working around machine cabinets, mounts, and sensors while following proper safety practices.

Highly

Preferred Experience (Big Plus)
  • PLC configuration and programming
  • Familiarity with configuring PLCs and working with ladder logic or structured text.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC‑based signals, machine states, or I/O during system integration is a strong advantage.
  • Hands‑on experience working with serial ports and industrial serial protocols.
  • Comfortable configuring baud rates, parity, stop bits, and diagnosing serial communication issues between machines and external devices.
  • Exposure to MTConnect, OPC UA, or MES systems.
  • Experience installing current sensors or machine‑state monitoring devices.
  • Background in controls, automation, or industrial IT/OT environments.
Why This Role Is Different
  • You’re shaping how Harmoni is deployed in the real world.
  • Your feedback directly influences product design and rollout strategy.
  • The role will evolve as the company scales — today’s field execution becomes tomorrow’s deployment standard.
