Associate Attorney - Intellectual Property (2+ years experience)
Join Emerson Thomson Bennett, a medium‑size intellectual‑property boutique in Northeast Ohio, as an Associate Attorney in our IP prosecution and litigation practice.
Job DescriptionWe specialize in all areas of intellectual property, offering both prosecution and litigation services. This remote, full‑time position supports our growing practice through drafting, prosecuting, and litigating IP matters.
Responsibilities- Draft, prosecute, and manage patent applications.
- Assist in intellectual‑property litigation.
- Provide support on trademarks, copyrights, and related IP matters.
- Maintain a book of business (preferred).
- Meet a minimum of 1,600 billable hours annually.
- Passed the USPTO patent bar.
- Minimum two years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications; litigation experience is a plus.
- Undergraduate degree in physics, mechanical, or electrical engineering preferred.
- Experience with trademarks and copyrights is preferred.
- Patent license from the USPTO (Required).
- Juris Doctorate (Required).
