Summary: Assistant Nurse Manager supports the Nurse Manager in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating delivery of patient care on assigned units on a 24-hour basis. NICU, PICU, Special Care Nursery experience preferred.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid, Full-time, 40 hours/week (Shift: 7pm-7:30am).
Responsibilities- Adds value as a key member of management; understands the business, financials, industry, customers and strategy.
- Supervises employees, provides direction, coaches, trains, develops, and manages performance to company goals and expectations.
- Prepares, manages, and adheres to department budget to maintain expenditure controls.
- Assists Nurse Manager in maintaining operational aspects of the patient care unit in collaboration with support services.
- Assists Nurse Manager in contributing to nursing and the Hospital through support of philosophy, objectives, educational efforts, and research efforts.
- Other duties as required.
- Experience in clinical pediatrics required; clinical experience in assigned area preferred.
- Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships which enhance communication, promote conflict resolution and facilitate staff development.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software required. Epic software or similar EMR software required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required;
Master’s degree (MSN) preferred. - Registered Nurse licensure required.
- Current Health Care Provider BLS training from the American Heart Association required.
- If assigned to general care units, PEARS required.
- If assigned to critical care units, PALS, ACLS, TNCC, and/or NRP required.
- If assigned to ED, Surgical Services, Sedation Services, Transitional Care/Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, and Transport, within 1 year of hire PALS, ACLS, TNCC, and/or NRP required.
- Years of relevant experience: 5 to 7 years preferred.
- Years of experience supervising: 3 to 5 years preferred.
