Trees and Gardens Consulting, LLC is a science‑based arboricultural consulting and plant health care business serving residential and select commercial clients throughout Northeast Ohio. The work centers on tree health, diagnostics, soil care, and long‑term tree preservation—not high‑volume or production‑style tree work.
This position is the first full‑time hire in a growing practice and is suited to someone who values autonomy, takes pride in doing work correctly, and is interested in helping establish strong field systems as the company grows.
Position OverviewThe Arboriculture & Plant Health Care Technician supports plant health care services, diagnostics, and treatment applications under the direction of a Board Certified Master Arborist. Work is primarily field‑based and client‑facing, with a strong emphasis on safety, accuracy, documentation, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities- Perform plant health care applications, including soil treatments, trunk injections, and foliar applications.
- Assist with tree and shrub diagnostics, inspections, and data collection.
- Support tree planting, establishment care, and soil remediation work.
- Safely operate, maintain, and care for PHC equipment and tools.
- Follow all pesticide labels, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate professionally with clients on job sites.
- Accurately document work (notes, photos, treatment records).
- Coordinate effectively with subcontractors and industry partners as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Professional, respectful demeanor with clients and partners.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Commitment to safety, proper procedures, and continual learning.
- ISA Certified Arborist or actively pursuing certification.
- Experience in plant health care, tree care, or horticulture.
- Background in arboriculture, forestry, horticulture, or environmental sciences.
- Ohio pesticide applicator license (or willingness to obtain).
- Comfort using mobile apps, photos, and digital job documentation.
