POSITION TITLE: Foreman
CLASSIFICATION: Non‑Exempt

Position Overview

ADB is a nationwide full‑turnkey provider of technology infrastructure solutions including wireline, wireless, ISP, AV, and engineering. This position leads the installation of fiber optic cable for various telecommunication projects and offers extensive growth opportunities within the trade.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Provide proficient‑level manual labor and operations, including hand digging, traffic control setup, equipment operations, fiber placement, material loading, and crew leadership on safety‑sensitive utility construction sites.
  • Proficiently read utility prints and maps.
  • Operate various equipment (directional drill, mini, plow, hydro, etc.) independently for at least one year; fully trained in all safety regulations for heavy equipment.
  • Support and lead setup and shutdown of utility construction projects, including traffic control in highways, side streets, parking lots, and downtown locations.
  • Maintain and lead safe practices, following all required safety procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, subcontractors, homeowners, and resolve complaints or issues.
  • Train other crew members on fiber installation practices, print reading, equipment operations, OSHA requirements, and more.
  • Load and unload materials and equipment from vehicles at yards and job sites.
  • Lead by example, ensuring safety rules are followed and others on sites are guided.
  • Participate in on‑the‑job training with senior foremen and supervisors to develop trade skills.
  • Lead hazard identification through the pre‑task process.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.

Work Environment
  • Must work in various physical positions: sitting, squatting, standing, walking, climbing.
  • May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds and noise levels onsite.
  • Regular exposure to all weather conditions, including hot, humid, cold, rain, snow, and ice.
  • Required to wear common protective safety equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel‑toed boots.
Experience & Education
  • 2+ years of utility construction experience as a crew leader and/or foreman.
  • 1+ year of heavy equipment operating experience (hydro, drill, mini, plow).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • CDL license or ability to obtain one.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

The starting pay for this position is $30.00 per hour and may vary based on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
