Job Title: Electrician
Job Summary:
Installs, trouble shoots, and repairs facility electrical distribution systems, lighting systems, apparatus, and devices. Basic skills and knowledge of motor controls, and logic control systems. Should be familiar with low voltage systems, fire systems, and voice and data systems. Also estimates, coordinates, and schedules on site construction or maintenance projects. Quality control using guidelines from the National Electrical Code, local codes, safety regulations, and EMCOR standard practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and building equipment
Connects power supply wire to machines and building equipment, and connects cables and wires between machine and equipment
Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, motor starters, MCC panels, MCC circuits, variable frequency drives, and lighting fixtures and replace damaged or broken wires and cables
Will be responsible for a 3 phase 480/277 VAC , Phase 120/208 VAC, and 120/240 VAC environment
Will maintain Data Center-electrical service for computer equipment
Will be responsible to maintain all electrical distribution systems within the buildings
Replace faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, motors and positions sensing devices
Replaces faulty electronic components such as printed circuit boards
Will be responsible for maintaining building lighting, task lighting on furniture systems, parking lot lighting, lighting contractors, and emergency lights/exit lights. 120 volt outlets, photoelectric eyes for exterior building lighting and lighting contractors that are controlled by energy management system
Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings
Performs preventative maintenance tasking on all electrical utilities and equipment
Attends classes and seminars on electrical components, distribution, and system design to update skills

Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities
Maintain, organize, and control inventory supplies tools and equipment
Clean and organize shop area. Maintain inventory of spare parts and material. Maintain tools and equipment for maintenance work
Qualifications:
Successfully completed Apprenticeship program and ten or more year’s related experience and training: or equivalent combination of education and experience. Journeyman status. Basic skills for Variable frequency drives. Must be versed in the use of voltmeters, amp meters, ohm meters, Meggars, and amp probes. Must be able to use interpret the data
Three (3) or more years related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, Ohms Law, and geometry
Training and certified to operate a fork truck and aerial lift preferred
