Senior Electronics Technician
We are seeking a Senior Electronics Technician to strengthen the technical capability of our laboratory and manufacturing team. This hands-on role focuses on assembling, testing, diagnosing, and repairing electromechanical gas and temperature monitoring equipment and components used in landfill monitoring operations. The successful candidate will not only complete their own work but will also help other technicians become more capable, consistent, and efficient.
The role requires independent troubleshooting of equipment, interpreting schematics, and teaching others how to identify and resolve problems. Product-specific training will be provided, but candidates should already possess strong electronics skills, sound diagnostic judgment, and a demonstrated ability to mentor others.
- Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and repair instruments and components using schematics, common hand tools, soldering equipment, and a digital voltmeter.
- Independently diagnose unfamiliar or recurring faults, identify underlying causes, and verify that repairs restore proper operation.
- Mentor and coach laboratory technicians through hands-on instruction, troubleshooting demonstrations, and constructive feedback to build independent problem-solving skills.
- Perform Windows-based testing and accurately record test results and repair information in Excel and established documentation.
- Help improve assembly, testing, and repair procedures; share technical knowledge and recommend changes that reduce repeat work and improve repair quality.
- Monitor parts, supplies, and finished equipment inventory to support production, repairs, sales, and shipping.
- Participate in team meetings, technical training, and process improvement; remain aware of production requirements and assist other departments as needed.
- Electronics assembly, testing, troubleshooting, or instrument repair with five or more years of relevant experience.
- Electrical/electronics certification or trade-school training. Equivalent military technical training and experience will be considered.
- Strong knowledge of electronics and electronic components, advanced schematic-reading and troubleshooting skills, and sound mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency with hand tools, soldering equipment, and a digital voltmeter, including the ability to perform precise work on small components.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor technicians, clearly explain diagnostic reasoning, and provide constructive feedback.
- Ability to learn company products and procedures, follow instructions, and apply established safety and quality practices.
- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency ('Green Card' holder) required.
