This is for an open position with the First Energy Service Company, a subsidiary of First Energy Corp.

Location:

Position may be filled at Akron, OH;
Greensburg, PA;
Reading, PA; or Fairmont, WV locations. Position is currently remote but may work at or visit a facility based on business need. The position will consist of being part of the Construction & Design Technology team focused on enhancing software and technology surrounding unified cost, schedule, portfolio, and equipment & materials management capabilities. In this position, you will partner with users across the company to provide high value product increments to the Construction & Design product.

Responsibilities:

Manage and operate vendor applications primarily focused on Construction & Design applications such as Oracle OPPM, Unifier, P6, Hexagon Eco Sys, and SAGE Estimating. Design, configure, and support integrations across the application portfolio. Learning and understanding the business processes associated with supported applications.

Developing technical designs that meet business needs and support the company’s IT direction.

Properly leveraging the correct technology for the defined requirements.

Creating and executing comprehensive unit test plans, developing test cases, assisting with integration, and completing system test plans.

Developing clear documentation for completed products.

Investigating and resolving problems with supported applications in a production support environment.

Solving complex problems and troubleshooting functionality for issue identification.

Learning electric utility transmission related business processes.

Becoming proficient software developer on the supported software applications and related tools.

Consistently delivering high-quality results.

Managing source code repositories, builds, and deploys

Active participating in a collaborative work environment

Availability to work flexible hours to support our application portfolio

Frequent interaction with business owners/stakeholders to gather requirements for new development projects, assist in defect resolution, etc.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Electrical Engineering, or related technical degree. In lieu of degree, equivalent in hands-on experience will also be considered.  Related experience includes, but not limited to, software development and integration experience with C#, C++, .Net, Python, REST API, or SQL Experience with Oracle databases with proven ability to develop SQL Queries, Stored Procedures, Packages, and Views.  

Experience supporting vendor developed enterprise system, preferably Oracle. Analytical skills to resolve problems and think creatively.

Willingness to undertake assignments involving unfamiliar subjects, with the aptitude to learn quickly.

Ability to learn new concepts in information technology, learn the characteristics of new systems and update skills to adapt to changing technology.
