Freight Handler - Part-Time

Position Overview: Transport freight within dock areas to and from trailers for loading and unloading.

• Handling freight using motorized (forklift, pallet jack) and manual equipment.
• Verifying freight documentation for type, weight, and hazards.
• Securing freight inside trailers with appropriate tools.
• Recouping or repairing damaged freight as needed.
• Completing necessary reports and documentation.
• Assisting customers with freight and documentation.
• Performing hostling duties if required.
• Ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Carrying out additional duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operation preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math and communicate effectively.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and open trailers, often requiring lifting up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Work Environment: Dock setting with exposure to weather, fumes, noise, and dust. Fast-paced, deadline-driven, with frequent contact with personnel.
