Assistant Accountant; Catering background
Responsibilities
Process and reconcile invoices for food beverage and operational supplies ensuring accurate coding and adherence to catering budgets. Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable, including tracking payments, preparing client invoices and following up on outstanding balances. Prepare daily sales reports and analyze variances against forecasts highlighting key performance indicators for catering operations. Support inventory management by tracking stock levels, assisting with stocktakes and calculating cost of goods sold for menu items.
QualificationsPossess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Have 2-3 years of proven experience in an accounting role, with a strong preference for candidates with a background in the catering or hospitality industry. Demonstrate proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Xero) and advanced Excel skills for financial analysis. Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail in financial data.
