Overview of the Role

Al-Futtaim Motors – Toyota is looking for an experienced Workshop Planner to join our team in Al Ain
. As a Workshop Planner, you’ll be the key player in allocating technical jobs to the right technicians, ensuring the seamless alignment of job requirements with technical skillsets. You will be at the heart of workshop operations, ensuring optimal efficiency and timely delivery of vehicles to our customers.
What You Will Do
- Job Allocation:
Assign jobs to technicians based on their skillsets and job requirements to optimize workflow. - Monitor Job Progress:
Keep track of the technician planning board and Job Progress Control Board, and report any concerns to the workshop manager. - Efficiency & Utilization:
Ensure fair distribution of tasks and achieve technician utilization and efficiency targets. - FIR Process:
Ensure adherence to the Fix It Right (FIR) process to meet performance targets. - Timely Job Closure:
Ensure allocated jobs are completed within the scheduled time and meet quality standards. - Time Clocking:
Maintain precise time clocking and elevate issues when necessary. - On-Time Vehicle Delivery:
Keep the Service Advisor updated on vehicle progress to guarantee on-time delivery.
Required Skills to Be Successful
- 2-3 years of experience as a Workshop Controller or Workshop Planner in an automobile dealership
- Expertise in allocating jobs to technicians based on their skill level and job requirements
- Ability to write detailed technical reports
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
About the Team
You will report directly to the Aftersales Manager, collaborating closely with Technicians and Service Advisors daily. Your role will involve constant communication with various departments, ensuring smooth operation and a high level of customer satisfaction. Your efforts will directly impact the overall success of the workshop and our customer service excellence.
What Equips You for the Role
- Diploma in Automobile / Mechanical Engineering
- Experience as a Diagnostic Technician or equivalent
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- UAE driving license (advantageous but not mandatory)
