Role OverviewAs a Consultant General Ophthalmologist, you will diagnose, treat, and surgically manage a wide range of ophthalmic conditions. You will provide both outpatient and inpatient ophthalmology services while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, clinical excellence, and evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and manage a broad spectrum of medical and surgical eye conditions.
- Perform comprehensive ophthalmic examinations and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Perform cataract surgery and other general ophthalmic surgical procedures.
- Manage emergency ophthalmology cases and complex referrals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated patient care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with DOH and hospital standards.
- Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and continuing medical education.
- Deliver compassionate, patient-focused care with excellent clinical outcomes.
- Licensed as a Consultant General Ophthalmologist.
- Valid DOH Consultant License or eligibility for DOH Consultant licensure.
- Experience in a tertiary care hospital setting (clinic-only experience will not be considered).
- Strong surgical case mix with extensive ophthalmic surgical experience.
- Excellent clinical decision-making and patient management skills.
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
