Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and challenging IGCSE Mathematics lessons fostering a deep understanding of core concepts and problem-solving strategies
- Develop and implement innovative teaching methodologies tailored to the IGCSE curriculum ensuring student comprehension and retention
- Create and administer assessments including formative and summative tests to accurately gauge student progress and identify areas for improvement
- Integrate technology and digital learning tools into the classroom to enhance engagement and cater to diverse learning styles
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their academic performance guiding them towards achieving their full potential
- Collaborate with faculty and administration to align mathematics instruction with school-wide academic goals and IGCSE examination requirements
- Prepare students effectively for IGCSE Mathematics examinations equipping them with the necessary skills and confidence for success
- Maintain accurate and organized student records including attendance grades and progress reports for effective tracking and communication
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and explore mathematical ideas
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in mathematics education and IGCSE curriculum changes to ensure relevant and up-to-date instruction
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field, with a strong academic record.
PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification, specifically recognized for international curricula - Minimum of 3 years of proven experience teaching IGCSE Mathematics or a comparable international syllabus
- In-depth knowledge of the IGCSE Mathematics syllabus (0580/and examination requirements.
- Proficiency in utilizing educational technology and digital platforms for instruction and assessment.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds - A passion for mathematics and a commitment to inspiring a love for the subject in young learners
- Adaptability and resilience, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international school environment
- Strong classroom management skills, creating a structured yet stimulating learning atmosphere
- Familiarity with assessment for learning strategies and data-driven instruction to personalize learning.
