Library Assistant

We are hiring a Library Assistant to join our team at a prestigious library in El-Ain. As a Library Assistant, you will assist the Librarian in managing and organizing the library's collection, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring a smooth functioning of daily operations. This is a contract position with a salary of 1600$ per month.

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
• Experience working in a library or customer service setting
• Proficient in English (Malayalees and Nepali speakers preferred)
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong communication skills and willingness to assist patrons with their needs
• Familiarity with library systems and technology

• Assist in managing the library's collection by shelving books and materials according to classification systems
• Check out materials to patrons using library software system
• Answer reference questions from patrons in person or over the phone
• Maintain neatness and organization of shelves, tables, and other areas within the library
• Assist patrons with finding materials or using equipment such as computers or copiers
• Process new materials by labeling, cataloging, and adding them to the library's collection
• Assist with planning and promoting library events or programs
• Collaborate with other staff members on special projects or tasks as needed
