HSE Engineer

Overview

Our Middle East operations have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Engineer to join our UAE team. The role will entail site work to monitor and audit construction contractors from a Health and Safety perspective. The current project is based in Al Ain. We require a qualified Health and Safety professional with a strong systems and auditing background in managing and monitoring construction contractors.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

• Monitor and audit construction contractors from a Health and Safety perspective on site.
• Set up HSE processes and procedures for the safe running of a construction site.
• Perform all Health, Safety and Environment responsibilities in accordance with the company HSE management system and codes.
• Deliver and prepare training and technical presentations to staff and clients.
• Conduct continuous monitoring of safety inspections and issues on site and report findings daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Train staff on HSE codes and practices.
• Conduct risk analyses, job hazard analyses, and job safety analyses.
• Investigate and report accidents/incidents.
• Audit construction contractors and ensure compliance with relevant standards (ISO 18001/9001/14001 and ISO 45001 where applicable).

• Minimum 12 years of relevant construction HSE experience.
• OSHAD Registration.
• NEBOSH Diploma or International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety; NEBOSH Dip Level 6 or equivalent such as OTHM Dip Level 6.
• NEBOSH qualification (Diploma or IGC).
• Capable Auditor with knowledge of ISO 18001, 9001 and ISO 14001 (preferably certified by an International Accreditation Body).
• ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor Certificate (preferred).
• Experience in auditing construction contractors.
• Experience working in the Middle East region is essential.
