The Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Department at the United Arab Emirates University is seeking a research Associate to carry out the calculations underpinning an ESG/CSR impact index and its associated model, including the computation of Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions and broader environmental impacts. The candidate should be skilled in quantitative and computational modeling, data analysis, and sustainability metrics. The preferred candidate will hold a Ph.D. in an Engineering field and have demonstrated experience in mathematical modeling, handling large datasets, and translating complex data into robust indicators.
Minimum Qualifications- Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field
- Strong quantitative and computational modeling skills
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical methods
- Experience computing Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions and assessing environmental impacts
- Good technical writing skills
- Flexible approach and initiative in executing the role
- Experience in building analytical dashboards
- Familiarity with ESG/CSR frameworks and sustainability indicators
- Experience with life cycle assessment (LCA) or process modeling
- Command of analytical tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R)
- Adaptable and flexible to the continuous changes associated with research demands
- Commitment to provide a safe and healthy workplace
- Proficiency with dashboard and visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
