The primary purpose of this role is to independently conduct all aspects of clinical gait analysis, from patient assessment and data acquisition to analysis, interpretation, multidisciplinary discussion, and reporting.

Responsibilities:The Gait Laboratory Technician will work within the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team m members may include, but are not limited to:
- Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physicians
- Orthopedic surgeons
- Neurologists
- Orthotists
- Radiology and medical imaging teams
- Physiotherapists and other allied health professionals
- Patient coordinators and scheduling teams
The role requires excellent communication and collaboration skills to support coordinated care, efficient scheduling, and a seamless patient journey throughout the gait analysis process.
The Gait Laboratory assesses and analyzes movement disorders in patients referred for comprehensive clinical gait analysis. Referrals may include the following diagnosis but is not limited too:
- Cerebral palsy
- Spina bifida
- Neuromuscular disorders
- Orthopaedic conditions
- Trauma-related gait impairments
- Other complex movement disorders
The position focuses on comprehensive clinical gait evaluation using advanced technologies, including:
- 3D motion-capture systems, such as Vicon and Qualisys
- Surface electromyography (EMG)
- Force plates
- Biomechanical analysis software, such as Nexus and Visual3D
Required
Qualification:
- Prefer is a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Biomechanics, Movement Science, or a related scientific discipline. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree or diploma in Physiotherapy, with a valid UAE professional license or eligibility to sit the DoH licensing examination with significant gait-lab experience can be considered.
- Minimum of five years of relevant gait laboratory experience.
- Evidence of postgraduate education, training, or continuing professional development in clinical gait analysis.
- Completion of a recognized course in clinical gait analysis or equivalent practical experience.
- Knowledge and experience in assessing children and/or adults with neurological, orthopaedic, prosthetic, or complex movement disorders.
- Experience using gait laboratory technologies and biomechanical analysis software.
