Job Description
Technology Portfolio Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing the University's portfolio of technological innovations from inception through to market deployment. This role requires close collaboration with researchers, legal experts, and external stakeholders to identify, protect, and commercialize technologies developed within the organization. The Specialist will be tasked with conducting market analyses, developing commercialization strategies, and ensuring that the technology portfolio aligns with the strategic objectives of UAE University.
The main goal is to maximize the commercial potential and societal impact of the technologies within the portfolio.
- Work closely with research and development teams to identify and evaluate emerging technologies and innovations.
- Ensure that all potential technologies are properly documented and assessed for inclusion in the portfolio.
- Conduct detailed evaluations of the technology portfolio, including technical feasibility, market potential, competitive analysis, and commercial viability. Use these assessments to inform strategic decisions on technology development and commercialization.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the protection, management, and commercialization of technology assets. This includes considering market trends, industry standards, and organizational goals to create robust and effective commercialization strategies.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all technology assets, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, and other forms of intellectual property. Ensure that all technologies within the portfolio comply with legal requirements and are adequately protected.
- Analyze market trends and the competitive landscape to identify opportunities for technology commercialization. Provide insights and recommendations to guide product development and market entry strategies.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including industry partners, investors, and other potential collaborators, to advance the commercialization of technology assets. Negotiate and manage licensing agreements, partnerships, and other commercial arrangements.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all activities related to the technology portfolio. Provide regular reports to senior management on the status of the portfolio, including updates on commercialization efforts and market performance.
Bachelor's/Master’s degree. Excellent analytical skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, as well as independently, with strong organizational and project management skills.
Experience/SkillsMs. Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Photoshop. Project management skills. Business and inter-personal communication skills.
Preferred QualificationsBachelor's/Master’s degree
