Web Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Web Engineer to join our Joybuy () team in London, UK. The role focuses on building and optimizing user-facing web experiences for high-traffic e-commerce scenarios, working closely with product and backend engineers to deliver scalable, customer‑focused frontend solutions.

• Develop and maintain web applications and user-facing features.
• Participate in requirement discussions, technical design, and code reviews.
• Optimize frontend performance, stability, and usability across browsers and devices.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs and ensure reliable data flow.
• Deliver features according to requirements and agreed delivery timelines.
• Research and experiment with new technologies to support the evolution of frontend engineering practices within the team.
• Work onsite in London, UK.

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3+ years of frontend web development experience using React or similar frameworks.
• Advanced knowledge in one or more programming languages, Java script/Typescript, HTML/CSS.
• Understanding of modern frontend principles, including responsive design, component-based architecture, and state management.
• Solid programming foundation with attention to code quality and maintainability.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and Chinese.

• Experience with e-commerce or high-traffic consumer platforms.
• Familiarity with modern frontend build tools, testing tools, workflows and practices.
• Experience working with international or distributed teams.
