Librarian

Contract Librarian in Al Buraymi, Oman

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Contract Librarian to join our team in Al Buraymi, Oman. As a Contract Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our library collection, as well as providing research and reference services to library patrons. This is a contract position with an initial salary of 1000$ per month.

• Manage and organize library collection, including cataloging and shelving materials
• Provide research assistance to library patrons, including locating and retrieving materials
• Assist with circulation tasks, such as checking books in/out and collecting fines
• Plan and implement programs and events to promote the use of the library
• Collaborate with other librarians to develop new collections and services
• Stay informed about new developments in the field of librarianship

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
• Previous experience working as a librarian or in a library setting preferred
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficient in using library software systems
• Knowledge of research methods and resources

• Master's degree in Library Science or related field
• Experience working with diverse populations
• Knowledge of Arabic language
