Librarian

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Librarian to join our team in Al Buraymi, Oman on a contract basis. As a Contract Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library and providing information services to our patrons. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently and has a passion for books and research.

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the library, including cataloging, shelving, and maintaining records of borrowed materials
• Assist patrons with locating and accessing materials, providing reference services, and promoting library resources
• Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations to promote library services
• Plan and implement programs and events to engage the community and promote literacy
• Stay updated on current trends in library science and technology to improve library services
• Collaborate with other librarians to develop collection strategies and policies

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a librarian
• Experience with cataloging systems such as Dewey Decimal Classification or Library of Congress Classification
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse groups of people
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Fluency in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus)
• Must have visa sponsorship or be eligible for a work visa in Oman

The salary for this position is 1600$ per month.

This position is based in Al Buraymi, Oman.

This is a contract position with an initial duration of 1 year. Renewal may be possible depending on performance.
