Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified Safety Officer to ensure a safe and compliant working environment across project sites. The role is responsible for implementing Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, conducting safety inspections, promoting safe work practices, and ensuring compliance with client, local, and international safety regulations within the Oil & Gas, Construction, or Industrial sectors.
Roles & Responsibilities- Implement and monitor Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures at project sites.
- Conduct daily site inspections and identify unsafe conditions and unsafe acts.
- Ensure compliance with company HSE standards, client requirements, and local regulations.
- Carry out toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness training for employees and subcontractors.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions.
- Monitor work permits and ensure compliance with Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.
- Conduct risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Hazard Identification (HIRA).
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all personnel.
- Coordinate emergency response drills and maintain emergency preparedness.
- Maintain HSE documentation, inspection records, and statutory compliance reports.
- Liaise with clients, supervisors, and project management on all HSE-related matters.
- Promote a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with project schedules and quality standards.
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the Oil & Gas, Construction, or Industrial sector.
- NEBOSH IGC certification is mandatory.
- OSHA, IOSH, or equivalent HSE certification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, Permit-to-Work (PTW), Risk Assessment, JSA, and Incident Investigation.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Experience in GCC projects is preferred.
