Industry: Manufacturing / Steel Fabrication / Engineering

We are currently supporting a well-established engineering and manufacturing organization in Saudi Arabia with the appointment of a Welding Engineer – Production
.

This role will be responsible for maintaining welding quality across production projects, ensuring welding procedures, consumables, equipment and documentation meet applicable codes, project requirements and delivery schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Weld Maps and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and coordinate Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).
  • Liaise with clients to obtain WPS approvals and ensure compliance with project-specific requirements.
  • Supervise welding of test coupons in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Verify calibration and readiness of welding equipment.
  • Monitor the correct use of welding consumables including electrodes, wire and flux.
  • Verify welder qualifications and approval status before assignment to projects.
  • Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for welding-related non-compliance identified on the shop floor.
  • Review and accept Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) reports before client submission.
  • Review welding records and supplier documentation for compliance with project and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate welding documentation and prepare required production/manpower reports.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering
    , preferably Mechanical Engineering.
  • A recognised welding certification such as CSWIP or CWI
    .
  • Minimum 2–3 years' experience within a production environment
    .
  • Strong knowledge of WPS, PQR, weld maps, welder qualification and welding codes/standards
    .
  • Experience reviewing NDE/NDT reports and welding quality documentation.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with clients, QA/QC teams, project teams, vendors and third-party inspectors.
