Position contingent upon funding.
Position OverviewThe Construction Inspector monitors, inspects, documents and advises on construction projects across electrical, mechanical, and civil/structural disciplines.
Essential Responsibilities- Monitor, inspect, document, and advise on construction projects as required.
- Visit construction sites daily.
- Attend weekly project meetings to keep the U.S. government informed of current information.
- Prepare and submit weekly project status and progress reports to the SM and COR.
- Update project data in an integrated master schedule at least weekly.
- Verify measurements, construction adequacy, and work completion in accordance with plans and specifications.
- Read, interpret, and decipher all construction documents, including schedules, specifications, blueprints, schematics and diagrams.
- Analyze procedures to identify deficiencies, monitor phasing, and ensure adherence to approved safety standards.
- Observe and inspect ongoing construction work and oversee construction record‑keeping activities.
- Recommend and review change orders submitted by construction contractors.
- Keep a daily log of all activities, weather conditions and work quantities.
- Ensure compliance with the statement of work and government‑approved construction documents.
- Notify the Government of non‑compliance within 24hours and provide inspection reports detailing the non‑compliance.
- 10years of construction field/inspection experience (or 15years of construction field experience) with an associate’s degree in Construction Management, or equivalent.
- Experience in civil/structural projects.
- American Concrete Institute (ACI) concrete testing certification preferred.
- Knowledge of the International Building Code, NFPA Fire Codes, and the NEC.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Valid U.S. passport (preferred).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Qatari residency visa.
- Ability to work in extreme environmental conditions, including dust and high temperatures.
- Ability to endure long hours and exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
- ACI Concrete Testing Certification.
May be required to travel to locations outside the military installation to verify design requirements and assess work quality.
Security ClearanceMust have and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
