Librarian

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Librarian to join our team at our busy library in Al-Rayyan As a Librarian you will be responsible for managing the librarys resources assisting patrons with research and information needs and promoting literacy and education through various programs and events

• Organize and maintain the librarys collection of books magazines newspapers audiovisual materials and other resources
• Assist patrons with finding and accessing information
• Develop and implement programs to promote literacy education and community engagement
• Catalogue new materials using the Dewey Decimal System or other classification methods
• Manage the librarys budget and make purchasing decisions for new materials
• Train and supervise library staff
• Stay updated on current trends in library science and technology

• Bachelors degree in Library Science or a related field
• At least 2 years of experience working as a Librarian or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of library systems cataloging methods and information resources
• Excellent communication skills in English knowledge of Arabic is a plus
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Passion for promoting literacy education and community engagement

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of $1600 per month
