Librarian Specialist - Al-Rayyan, Qatar

We are seeking a highly organized and knowledgeable Librarian Specialist to join our team in Al-Rayyan, Qatar. As a Librarian Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining library resources, assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries, and overseeing library activities and events. This role requires a strong understanding of library systems, classification methods, and information retrieval techniques.

• Manage and maintain the library collection including cataloging, shelving, and weeding
• Assist patrons with research and reference inquiries using both print and digital resources
• Develop and implement library programs and events to engage the community
• Train library staff on effective use of library resources and technology
• Stay updated on current trends in librarianship to enhance services offered by the library
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate library resources into their programs

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a library setting
• Strong understanding of Library of Congress Classification system and information retrieval techniques
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
• Proficient in using technology for cataloging, research, and reference services
• Knowledgeable about current trends in librarianship
• Fluent in English (Arabic language skills are a plus)
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Salary: 1700$ per month
